Grief Is A Process

Grief is a process.  Each individual's grief is unique.  No two people grieve in the same way.  There are some common feelings, sensations and emotions that many people experience after the death of a loved one; such as difficulty concentrating, physical aches and pains, guilt, depression and irritability.  These are normal reactions and responses to the pain you are feeling. You may experience one or a combination of several emotions at any given time during this difficult period. These feelings will not last forever. Grief must be worked through - give yourself time to accept your "new life" - take one day at a time. It is important that throughout the initial mourning process, you rest, eat well, exercise and seek out social support. Mourning requires enormous energy.
