Adele "Chuck" Simmons, son of Samuel and Mary Lee Jenkins, was born November 28, 1934 in Eutawville, SC. Adele "Chuck" Simmons was reared by the late Katie Simmons and the late Anna Bell Ravenell with a lot of love and affection. He departed this life very peacefully on Tuesday April 18, 2017.
Adele "Chuck" Simmons attended Spartanburg School for the Deaf where he became fluent in sign language. He was inspired by Christ to faithfully attend St. James Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was a loving uncle who always greeted nieces and nephews with a nickel (5 cents), a hug and a hand shake. He was well known as the best peanut salesman in Eutawville, and used his God given talents to achieve success selling peanuts to family and friends weekly. Adele "Chuck" Simmons worked for Fred Norris Farming for numerous years.
Adele "Chuck" Simmons, Courageous, Strong, Self Sufficient and Proud, a man who never gave up. A man, who never complained, probably prayed more than anyone and kept his faith in God above all else…
He was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel B. Green.
He leaves to cherish his legacy: one brother, Daniel (Virginia) Green of Holly Hill SC; sister-in-law, Marie Green of Harleyville, SC; nieces, nephews, and a host of very special cousins who cared for him and loved him dearly.
" Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand." Psalm 37:24.
