Albert (Bert) Jonathan Beauford was called home by our heavenly father on May 17, 2023 in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.

Bert, as he was known to his family and friends, was a son of the late Gilyard Beauford and Lular Taylor Beauford. Bert was born on April 23, 1947 in Jamestown, South Carolina.

Bert received his education in the Jamestown, South Carolina School System. In his early years Bert relocated to New York City where he met and married Sadell Macon.

Bert was an entrepreneur early on in his career then worked as a Septic Maintenance and Repair Specialist until his retirement. Once retired, after many years Bert returned to Jamestown, South Carolina.

In his retirement Bert developed a hobby for automotive repair that he shared with his brothers, Willie and Gilbert. Bert was well known to be the Handyman for the family. When you needed something fixed, you called Bert.

Bert will be missed but never forgotten. He has left us all with a lot of shared memories of great times.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donr'e Carroll; brothers, Douglas and Thomas Beauford; and sisters, Lizzie Hawkins, Louise Whitaker, and Betty Beauford.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: four daughters, Diane Macon, Lewanta Beauford, Crystal Beauford and Selena Levine; three sons, Albert Beauford Jr., Shajuan Beauford and Robert Levine; six siblings, Theresa Little, Bertha Brunson, Willie (Angela) Beauford, Yvonne Beauford, Gilbert (Cynthia) Beauford and Sarah Beauford; sister-in-law, Flora Mae Beauford; two stepdaughters, Lakiesha Ellis (Cedric) and Michele Levine; fifteen grandchildren: Anthony, Shontell, Desiree, Donr'e, Todd, Jamar, Christopher, Darius, Christian, Ivin, Morgan, Shayla, Courtney, Sierra and Macaylah; ten great-grandchildren: Alaunna, Jamar Jr., Nayla, Teyon, Alayah, Darian, Alair, Alayah Dior, Donr'e Jr. and Christopher Jr.; a very special friend, Cassandra Levine; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.

Bert will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him dearly. Until we meet him again, may he sleep in peace.

A Graveside Service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, 12:00 p.m., at Taylor Cemetery, Jamestown, SC. Viewing will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
