Albertha Lee Poinsette Walker, daughter of the late Mr. Richard Poinsette and Mrs. Elizabeth Poinsette, was born on September 28, 1928 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. On the morning of Friday, August 30, 2019, God called His precious Angel home .

Albertha, "Bertha", as she was passionately known, was educated in the Berkeley County School System.

At a young age, she met and married Arthur Roiley Rivers on June 24, 1944 and was blessed with three children. After this marriage ended, she met and married Archie P. Walker on May 3, 1953. From their union, they were blessed with 12 children. Her husband Archie preceded her in death.

Bertha was a phenomenal woman. She was a sweet and loving person who made everyone smile with her personality and spunk. To know her was definitely to love her. She loved spending time with her family. She had so much love to give and was loved by others just as much. We truly lost a legend, but Heaven gained an Angel. She will always and forever be our Queen.

Bertha's memories will always be remembered and cherished by: her ten loving children, Dorothy Rivers (Bernard), Arthur Rivers, Roiley Rivers (Loretta), Marilyn Walker, Richard Walker (Jean), Brenda Angie Bloom (Alan), Cathy Hampton (Willie), Darlene Walker, Donnaver Walker and Deloris Walker; three daughters-in-law, Diane Walker, Carolyn Walker and Dorothy Walker; two sisters-in-law, Petunia Capers (Malachi) and Theresa Walker; a special grandson who she raised, Eric Walker; a nephew she raised as her own, Charlie Culbreath; a special nephew,  David Poinsette; 46 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Bertha was preceded in death by four children, Frances Lawrence, Archie Walker, Jr., Ernel "Ernie" Walker and Alvin Walker; and three grandchildren, Glen Walker, Farrah Walker and Jochosia Quarles.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, September 8, 2019, 2:00 p.m., at Messiah Church of Deliverance, 1198 Starline Road, Summerville, SC.  Burial will be in Sheep Island Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
