Alfonzo "Al"
Green
November 1, 1967 – April 8, 2026
With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Mr. Alfonzo “Al” Green of St. Stephen, South Carolina, who entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Alfonzo was a kind-hearted soul whose warm spirit and joyful presence left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Alfonzo was an electrician by trade, but his passion extended far beyond his profession. He found great joy working as an auto mechanic, a craft he truly loved. Music was also a meaningful part of his life—whether singing or rapping, he expressed himself in ways that brought smiles and laughter to those around him. Known for his sense of humor and uplifting nature, Alfonzo had a special way of brightening even the heaviest of days.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving mother, Reverend Eliza Ann Scott Mayes; his siblings, Roscoe Green, Percy Green, Gloria J. Greene-Calloway (Wendell), Rovenania J. Ross, Dr. Hope E. Greene, and Kawai Greene (LeVar). He is also lovingly remembered by his special friend, Carolyn Graham, and her children, Antoine and Shirelle Graham, along with a host of other relatives and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Alfonzo was preceded in death by his father, Richard Greene, and his siblings, Lula Ann Green, Richardeen Daniels, and James A. Green.
As we honor and celebrate Alfonzo’s life, we humbly ask that you keep his family lifted in prayer and surround them with love, strength, and comfort during this time of bereavement.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
