"And as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last, He will take His stand on the earth. Even after my skin is destroyed, yet from my flesh I shall see God." Job 19:25-26 Mrs. Alice Middleton Nelson Prioleau, the daughter of the late Christopher and Laura Middleton, was born on November 17, 1925 in Pineville, South Carolina. On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 1:30 p.m., she answered her Master's call and peacefully slipped away at Lexington Memorial Hospital in West Columbia, SC. Alice was reared in the Ginnysville Section of Pineville, SC and was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. In 1943, she relocated to Brooklyn, New York where she met and in 1950 married Mr. Willie Nelson of Eadytown, SC. This union was blessed with one daughter. Four years after the death of her husband, she returned home, and in 1976 she wed Mr. Chance Prioleau, who also preceded her in death. At a young age, Alice became a member of Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church, Pineville, SC where she served faithfully until her health began to decline. She especially loved to attend Sunday School. She was also a member of St. John Chapter #213, Order of the Eastern Star. Alice will be remembered for the laughter she brought to everyone she met. She was never too busy to engage in conversation that was both humorous and encouraging. She loved to cook and bake. A visit to her home would not be complete until she fed you and/or you ate a slice of her "to die for" Jelly Layer cake. She loved the Lord, she loved her church, and she especially loved her family. She was the family matriarch, and she will be missed. She leaves to celebrate and cherish her life: one daughter, Mrs. Stephanie (Dwight) Bennett of West Columbia, SC; one grandson, Staff Sergeant William Nelson, United States Air Force, Las Vegas, NV; his wife, Stacey and two great grandchildren, Jay and Ciarra of Columbia, SC; sister, Evangelist Mary A.
