Alonia Vivian White Montgomery, daughter of Lavenia White Gadsden and the late Christopher Bennett, was born December 10, 1965 in Bonneau, SC.

Maxine, as she was affectionately known, received her education in the Berkeley County School System. She was a 1984 graduate of St. Stephen High School. She continued her education at South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC.

Maxine accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was confirmed at Calvary Reformed Episcopal Church. She was ordained as an Evangelist in 2010 under the leadership of Apostle Applewhite. Everywhere she went, Maxine brought laughter and a word from the Lord.

Maxine was a social butterfly and had a warm and friendly personality. She never met a stranger and would brighten any room she entered. She loved her family, especially her girls and grandchildren. She was also known for having the "last word".

On January 15, 2015, she married Harry C. Montgomery.

Maxine was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

She leaves to continue her legacy: her husband, Harry Cordell Montgomery; daughters, Antonia Monae White, Asiantoria White and Alashia White (Shaquille); parents, Lavenia and Henry Gadsden; grandchildren, Josiah, Princeton and Harlow; stepchildren, Adaian Cordell Montgomery, Armonie Monea Montgomery and Aniyah Montgomery; siblings, Angela Crawford (Henry), Darrell Gadsden, Jermaine Gadsden (Erica), Crystal Hall (Antonio), Onnether Lucas (William), Lincoln Maybank, Crystal Woodley, Megan Kearney and Christopher Bennett, Jr.; father-in-law, Pastor Harry J. Montgomery; mother-in-law, First Lady Dawn Montgomery; brothers-in-law, Roderick Montgomery (Stella), Demetrius Montgomery and Dewante' Brown; grandmother-in-law, Angie Montgomery; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
