Alphonso Thomas Rollerson, son of the late David and Helen Rollerson, was born April 4, 1953 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Alphonso attended school in the Berkeley County School District. He was a 1971 graduate of Macedonia High School and previously attended Russellville High School where he excelled in the band. While at Macedonia, he was a star football player. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.

Alphonso was married to Nevelyn White Rollerson who preceded him in death. From this union were three sons: Rasheed, Stacey and Hassan (Shameka).

Alphonso was a member of the Saint Stephen Church of Christ where he led songs and often Bible studies.

An avid angler and gardener, Alphonso would often be found fishing or working in his garden.

After a decline in health, Alphonso ascended on February 12, 2022.

He leaves to celebrate his life: his three sons; three brothers, Gregory (Ethel), Claflin (Rudelle) and Ethan; sister, Veronica; several grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Gethers St. Stephen Chapel, 221 Church Road, St. Stephen, SC.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, seating is limited and face masks are required.
