Alvin Walker, Jr., the son of Diane Walker and the late Alvin Walker, Sr., was born on June 15, 1974 in Charleston, South Carolina. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at his residence.
Alvin was educated in the Berkeley County School System, graduating from Stratford High School in 1993. He loved baseball and played with The Outsiders baseball team for a number of years.
At the age of 18, Alvin joined the United States Navy in 1993, where he served for three years. He worked various jobs.
Alvin, as he was affectionately called "Junebugg" by many friends in the community. He was also a loving son, fiancée, father and uncle.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Alvin Walker, Sr.; two uncles, Archie Walker, Jr. and Earnell Walker; two aunts, Frances Lawrence and Priscilla Newsome; paternal grandparents, Archie and Bertha Walker; maternal grandmother, Addie B. Perry; maternal grandfather, William Perry; maternal great-grandparents, Otha and Lena Walker and maternal great-grandparents, David and Regina Perry.
Alvin will always be remembered by: a loving and devoted mother, Diane Walker; devoted fiancée, Crystal Ravenell; loving mother-in-law, Barbara Ravenell (Glenn); three children, Serenity Walker, Jabril Walker and Jamela Walker; two stepsons, Syncere Ravenell and Jykeem Middleton; four siblings, Latarus Walker (Layveleta), Donnell Walker (Rudenia), Ronnell Bey Walker (Tina) and Derrick Walker (Alicia); god sister, Ne'na Davis-Matthews; his aunts and uncles, Leslie Mae Hunt (David), Lorie Smith, Connie Perry, Cornelius Perry, Marilyn Walker, Richard Walker (Jean), Brenda Bloom (Allen), Cathy Hampton (Willie), Darlene Walker, Donnaver Walker, Deloris Walker, Carolyn Walker, Dorothy Ann Rivers and Arthur Lee Rivers; a special uncle, Roiley Rivers (Loretta); two special cousins, Amanda Eaton and Alberta Samuel; six grandaunts; two granduncles; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held Friday, June 5, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., at Sheep Island Community Cemetery, Summerville, SC.
