Obituary

Anna (Annie) B. Isaac entered into eternal rest peacefully at her home on December 26, 2025.  Anna was born on August 11, 1937, in St Stephen, SC, to the late Joseph and Leah Gadsden. Her mother, Leah, passed away when Anna was only three years old. Her father later married Elsie Lloyd, and they raised Anna to adulthood.

Anna was educated in the Berkeley County Public School System.  After graduating from high school, she attended Morris College.  Subsequently, she moved to Detroit, Mi where she completed a degree in cosmetology.   After working as a cosmetologist for a few years, she moved to New Jersey to work and attend Bloomfield College, where she earned a BA degree in Social Work.

She was then employed by the State of New York Department of Social Services until her retirement.  After retiring, she moved to Augusta, GA.  In Augusta, she joined St Alban's Episcopal Church, where she served on the ECW and was also a member of the American Legion; she loved to worship and fellowship.

Anna was a long-time resident of Newark, New Jersey.  She was an active member of New Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church and served in various capacities, including Vestry.   She used her professional skills in social work to greatly enhance the missions of the church.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her son James Isaac, and daughter Richelle Isaac; siblings: Emma Harris, Gladys Gadsden, Ida Edwards, Joseph Lloyd, Barbara Haynes, and Josephine Brunson.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Shirley Isaac; grandchildren: Joseph, Allen, and Michael; siblings: Beatrice Staggers, Isaac Gadsden, and Henry Gadsden, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish her love and memory.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 2321 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA, directed by Williams Funeral Home, Inc.,2945 Old Tobacco Road, Hephzibah, GA.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2025, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Gethers Funeral Home, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC.

Burial Service will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at Blanding Cemetery, Highway 45, Pineville, SC.
