Anna Richmond, the daughter of the late Eliza Green and Joel W. Richmond, was born on December 22, 1922 in Cordesville, South Carolina. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at her residence. Mother Anna Richmond attended the public schools of Berkeley County. She was employed by The Citadel in Charleston, SC as a dry cleaner, retiring after providing 30 years of outstanding service. Mother Richmond joined St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church (currently Moncks Corner AMEC), where she actively served as Missionary President and member. Mother Richmond initiated the community-wide Thanksgiving dinner, which is still strong after many years. She was also a Class Leader and a member of the Lay Organization until her health started to decline. Mother Anna Richmond was preceded in death by her only son, James "Jimmy" Greene and several sisters and brothers. Those left to cherish her memories: a daughter-in-law, Deloris Greene; five grandchildren, Olenthia Johnson of Greenville, SC, Deanna (Darius) Anthony of Las Vegas, NV, Raquel (Roosevelt) Davis, Jeremy "JJ" (LaTisea) Greene and Bryan Greene both of Jacksonville, FL; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Stella "Jean" Boyce of Atlanta, GA, two brothers, Albert (Earlene) Richmond and Stanley (Betty) Richmond both of Cordesville, SC; a special great, great-nephew and godson, Travis Aiken; a special grandniece and caregiver, Eliza (John) Flenory; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
