Annabell Addison Green, daughter of the late Jesse and Emma Addison, was born on November 6, 1928 in St. Stephen, South Carolina. She departed this life on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at her residence.
Annabell was educated in the Berkeley County School System. She received her Bachelor's degree from Morris College and her Master's degree from South Carolina State University.
Annabell was united in Holy Matrimony to Jeremiah Green in 1966. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage. This union was blessed with two beautiful children. Her husband preceded her in death.
Annabell accepted Christ at an early age at St. Stephen Baptist Church. After marriage, she became a member of Wesley African Methodist Episcopal Church. This virtuous woman has worked for a lifetime in the church promoting several ministries. She has served faithfully in various capacities which included: Class Leader, Trustee Board, Steward Board, Women's Missionary Society, Senior Choir, Usher Board, Junior Missionary Advisor and Early Morning Prayer Warrior.
Annabell's professional career in the field of education flourished over 42 years in the Berkeley County School System. The positions held were that of teacher and librarian. After her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, bowling, spending time with family, and serving her community.
Annabell became a member of St. Stephen Chapter No. 158, Order of the Eastern Star, Rite of Adoption, Jurisdiction of South Carolina, with over 49 years of dedicated service. She served as Worthy Matron from 1983 to 1990. Afterwards, she served faithfully as a Past Matron.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Antoinette (Ben Maurice) Jones and Kenneth (Tanya) Green; grandchildren, Asha Jones and Ben "BJ" Jones, Jr.; two sisters, Isabell Anderson and Iva Mae Armstrong; three sisters-in-law, Elma Davis, Elease Addison and Maybelle Addison; one goddaughter, Hermenia Frederick; two step grandchildren, Angel and Donald; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, 12 Noon, at Wesley A.M.E. Church, 2883 French Santee Road, Shulerville, SC. The burial was in the church cemetery.Viewing and Wake Service
