Mrs. Annabelle Telfare Lazenbury, a daughter of the late Mr. Willis and Rachel Telfare, Sr., step-daughter of the late Mrs. Etta Green Telfare, was born June 11, 1924 in the Liberty Hill Section of North Charleston, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life June 18, 2010. Annabelle gave her life to Christ at an early age and began her spiritual journey as a faithful member of Royal Missionary Baptist Church. Later, she joined Providence AME Church and served faithfully on the Pulpit Aid Board and the Trustee Board. She was the "Mother" of the church. Her devotion to God was evident in that she believed one should always strive to know more about the love of God, encourage others, particularly the youth of the church and the youth of the community, and above all, love family. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Lenzy Lazenbury. Others who preceded her in death, are siblings: Mrs. Albertha Telfare-Grant, Mr. Willis Telfare, Jr., and Mr. Isaiah Telfare. Annabelle, after graduating from Benedict College, began her professional career as a librarian in Bethune Elementary School. She served the Charleston County School District for more than 25 years with diligence, love and respect. She was gifted in culinary arts and haberdashery and shared those gifts with many people. Sharing was one of her attributes. Annabelle's undying love and acts of kindness for and to her family in general, and to her nieces and nephews, in particular, represented the epitome of a loving mother and friend. These memories will be remembered and cherished always! Those who remain to cherish the memories of Annabelle: a loving and devoted sister, Mrs. Ethel T. Randolph of North Charleston, South Carolina; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews, great-great grand-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
