Obituary

Annie Mae Gadsden, a daughter of James Jenkins and Sarah Pinckney Jenkins, was born November 22, 1931 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. She quietly entered into eternal life with the Lord on April 2, 2016 at her home.

Annie was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County.

Annie was united in holy matrimony to Henry C. Gadsden on August 11, 1949. This union was blessed with five children.

Annie was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Senior Choir and served faithfully until her health began to decline.

She will be remembered for her loving heart and her gentle spirit. She will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her husband, Henry C. Gadsden of St. Stephen, SC; children, Henry Gadsden, Jr. (Delores) of Mattapan, MA, Beulah Harley (Samuel) of Florence, SC, Barbara G. Thompson of Goose Creek, SC, Bruce Gadsden (Luz) of Moncks Corner, SC and Julius Gadsden (Jannie) of Florence, SC; brother, Reynold Jenkins (Earline) of Mattapan, MA; sisters, Elouise Jenkins of Moncks Corner, SC and Ethel Sabino (John) of Gautier, MS; sister-in-law, Corine Gethers of New Haven, CT; brother-in-law, James Gethers (Gloria) of St. Stephen, SC; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.
