Annie Doctor West, daughter of the late Estell Doctor Gillard and Alexander Ravenell, was born on August 22, 1948 in Holly Hill, South Carolina. On Monday, February 8, 2021, Annie was called home to be with the Lord.

Annie received her education at Central High School in Cross, South Carolina. She later relocated to Washington, DC where she was a Childcare Provider and foster parent with the Washington Child and Family Services Agency.

Annie was united in holy matrimony to Andrew West. Her husband and one son, Deshawn Walter West, preceded her in death.

Annie's hobbies included fishing and cooking. She supported community events by cooking her delicious dishes. She was a loving woman who willingly helped others. She received her strength in the Lord through her singing and praying.

Her memory will be cherished by: her children, Vincent Gillard West, Keith L. West and Steven West; stepdaughter, Janet Bennett Brown; granddaughters, Deja Reels, Vincentcia Hicks and Aliyah Matharu; twelve siblings, Evangelist Elizabeth Washington, Louise Gillard, Lawton Gillard, Betty Aldridge, Evern Gillard-Randolph, Mary Polite, Martha Ravenell, Flora Gillard-Paul, Vernetha Gillard, Mary Lee Ravenell, Joyce Gillard-Diggs and Jeffrey Gillard; three sisters-in-law, Willa Mae Welch, Jeanette Gillard and Alberta West; seven brothers-in-law, Langston Aldridge, Jackie Randolph, Author Polite, Richard Ravenell, Raymond Paul, Douglas Ravenell and David W. Diggs, Jr.; aunts, Henrietta Nelson, Ann Baxter, Ann Theirse, Jessie Mae Oliver, Daisy Riggins. Jeanette Brown and Honsheka James; uncles, Thomas West and Russell James; a special person in her life, Donnell Raymond Pinckney; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be Sunday, February 14, 2021, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside Service will be Monday, February 15, 2021, 12:00 p.m., at Unity Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Eutawville, SC. Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing at the viewing and the service, as per CDC guidelines for COVID-19.
