"Where I once saw death, I only see life." Anthony Steven Hill, affectionately known as "Tony", the son of Carolyn B. Giummo and Anthony W. Hill, was born on June 15, 1988 in Charleston, South Carolina. Tony was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Berkeley High School in 2006. While at Berkeley High School, he was a member of the Chorus, Drama Club, Football and Track teams. Upon graduation, he attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. Tony was a member of Moncks Corner African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he served as a member of the Youth Choir, YPDer Ministry, Sons of Allen, an Acolyte and he was a member of the Church School. In October 2008, Tony enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his time of service, he served in the Middle East as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Tony was awarded numerous decorations, medals, badges and campaign ribbons during his time of service, which included: Air Force Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Award with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service and the Air Force Training Ribbon. Tony loved music and had aspirations of pursuing a career in music. He loved life and wanted to share his passion with others. He enjoyed singing, composing, producing and collaborating with other artists. He also shared his time freely with young children. His warm, friendly, caring presence will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Tony was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William L. Baylor, II, his paternal grandfather, James L. Hill and his uncle, James D. Hill. On March 9, 2015, Tony entered into the Heavenly Gates for eternal rest. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Carolyn B. Giummo of Moncks Corner, SC; his father, Anthony W. Hill of Chicago, IL; one sister, Tamara R. Giummo of Fort Mill, SC; one brother, James A. Hill of Los Angeles, CA; his maternal grandmother, Theola W. Baylor of Moncks Corner, SC; his paternal grandmother, Nina M. Reid of Chicago, IL; his uncles, William L. Baylor, III (Rhonda) of Hope Mills, NC, Eldridge L.A. Baylor (Mary) of Columbia, SC, Pierre Baylor (Marilyn) of Fort Mill, SC and Ricky Harrington (Vanessa) of Ellicott City, MD; his aunts, Allean B. Rush (George) of Waxhaw, NC and Beverly Tillison (Franchot) of Chicago, IL; his girlfriend, Bridget Anderson of Atlanta, GA; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
