IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony O'Neil
Jones
May 5, 1969 – July 21, 2019
Anthony O'Neil Jones, son of Moses Jones and the late Maxine Ravenell Jones, was born on May 5, 1969 in Bayonne, New Jersey. He was suddenly called home to rest on Sunday morning, July 21, 2019 at Moncks Corner Medical Center, Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
Anthony received his early education at P.S. #15 in Jersey City, NJ. After transitioning to South Carolina, he received his remaining education through the Berkeley County School System. He was a 1987 graduate of Cross High School. He later attended Nielsen Electronic Institute, Charleston, SC.
Anthony accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Jehovah Lodge #351, Cross, SC.
Anthony had a passion for hard work, various vehicles and electronics. He was employed for over ten years at Northside Nissan, North Charleston, SC. He later had a strong desire to begin his own business. His first business venture, Jones Grocery in Pineville, SC, was passed on to him through the love of James "Jimmy" Bonaparte. He later ventured out into the Santee area where he established AJ's Grocery in Santee, SC. He also established businesses in the Vance and Summerton areas. His largest venture was establishing "Rite on Time" Transport and Towing, where he was listed in the Berkeley County Transport Rotation. He was proud of his accomplishments with this business and the various heavy equipment he owned to aid him in the success of it. He advanced his business by: purchasing junk cars, land clearing, repairing access roads and driveways, top soil, sand and rock hauling, bush hogging, stump removal, septic tanks, pond digging, demolition of old buildings, and the list goes on and on. He was responsible for the renovation of Miracle Academy Park. He gave selflessly to family, friends, strangers and various communities. He also had a passion for assisting the elderly. Anthony was an avid motorcycle rider for over 20 years.
Anthony was married to ShaLonda Eadie on November 26, 1994. This union was blessed with two children, ShaLaysia Maxine Jones and Alayah Maxine Jones. ShaLaysia preceded him in death. Everyone knew who kept him going. Alayah was his pride and joy, the apple of his eye, his heart, his baby girl, his "boss lady", and he'd say the reason why he worked. He loved her unconditionally and was beyond proud of all her achievements and accomplishments thus far in life.
Anthony was also preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Ravenell Jones; brother, Derrick Jones; and numerous other relatives.
Anthony leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted and loyal daughter, Alayah Maxine Jones; his dedicated father, Moses (Valerie) Jones; his caring and affectionate sisters, Brenda Jones Greene, Chidarell Palmer Glaze and Ieshia Washington; his loving nieces and nephews, Kayla R. Greene, Desmine (Deloshier) Greene, Derrick Greene, Jr., Yasmine Glaze, Trinity Gattis, Brian Gattis, Jr., Elijah Palmer, Landon Glaze, Kelic Glaze, Caden Glaze, Derieek K. Jones and Dereon Jones; his loving great nephews, Cameron Z. Greene and Isaiah Q. Greene; his reliable godchildren, Raven Symone Hall and Anthony Brown, Jr.; his loving aunts and uncles, Victoria Benekin, Loretta Green, Lucy Snell, Ruby L. Bryant, Thelma Z. Spann, Ruth Owsley, Willie (Versalle) Jones, Joseph Jones, Frank Ravenell, Mack (Deloris) Ravenell, Jr., Jessie M. Ravenell and Roger (Dorothy M.) Ravenell and an abundance of cousins and friends.
