Anthony Romone Rivers was born August 23, 1975 in Charleston, South Carolina to Ms. Lillie B. Rivers and Mr. Leon Wright.  He departed this life on February 3, 2017 at his residence, 1350 Old Cherry Hill Road, in Moncks Corner, SC.

"Tony" graduated from Berkeley High School in 1994.  He also graduated Cum Laude from Claflin University, Orangeburg, SC with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  Tony was affectionately known as "Rolly Polly Cheeks" and "Cookie Monster" at home.  Others knew him as "Coach Rivers", "Tony", and "Tone Cahpone".  In addition, some of his favorite things were his Mom's home cooking, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, and his girl's track team at Berkeley High School.  Tony was a lover of football and a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.

"Tony" was an avid writer and an accomplished artist.  He has received accommodations for both his poetry and artwork.  Tony touched many lives, and his memory will live on through his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Ms. Lillie B. Rivers-King of Moncks Corner, SC; his father, Mr. Leon Wright of Charleston, SC; siblings, John R. Rivers (Rev. Hope), Yusuf Abdul Alim (Ndeye Marie), Eric Sampson (April), Anthony Sampson and Brenda D. Wright; a goddaughter, Stori Mozeak; one nephew, Giovanni R. Rivers; three special cousins, Artesha Rivers Hawkins, Cierra Guerra and Shamane Rivers; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Wright.
