Arthur Lee Rivers, son of the late Arthur R. Rivers and Albertha Lee Poinsette Walker, was born on May 3, 1949 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. On the night of Thursday, May 13, 2021, Arthur entered into eternal rest.

At a young age, Arthur was educated in the Boston, Massachusetts school system.  He later joined Job Corps and completed his education.

During his time living in Boston, Massachusetts, Arthur was blessed with two daughters, Shireese Johnson and Gloria Jean Hart, and four beautiful grandchildren. Gloria preceded him in death.

Arthur was a member of the Church House of Ministry World Wide, Ladson, South Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter, Shireese Johnson of Boston, MA; four grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Rivers, Roiley Rivers (Loretta), Marilyn Walker, Richard Walker (Jean), Brenda Angie Bloom (Alan), Cathy Hampton (Willie), Darlene Walker, Donnaver Walker, Deloris Walker, Willis Anthony Rivers, Robert Rivers (Mary), Lethaniel Rivers, Leo Rivers (Connie), Henry Darryl Rivers (Ralynn), Reginald Rivers and Darlene Jacobs (Daniel); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; aunts and uncles; and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be held Monday, May 17, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Messiah Church of Deliverance, 1198 Starline Drive, Summerville, SC. Burial will be in Messiah Church of Deliverance Cemetery, Summerville, SC.
