Barbara Ann Bennett Chatman, daughter of  B.C. Houston and Shirley Ann Bennett Richardson, was born November 22, 1953 in Moncks Corner, SC. She departed this life on July 25, 2021 at her home.

Barbara was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. She began her nursing career at Trident Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She later was employed at Griswold Home Care where all of her patients fell in love with her.

Barbara was a member of Pointe North Church, Moncks Corner, SC.

Barbara was united in holy matrimony to Freddie Chatman, Jr.

Barbara was known for her love of flowers. She planted them all around her yard. She also enjoyed shopping.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her grandmother, Elouise Bennett.

Precious and fond memories will always be cherished by: her loving children, Christopher Bennett of Spartanburg, SC, Charles Bennett (Crystal) of Summerville, SC, Cornelius Gallashaw (Kim) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Alethia Wait (Gary) of Summerville, SC and Macine Gavin (Daniel) of Moncks Corner, SC; sisters, Thelma Jean Bennett and Pandora Jackson; three family members who she was reared with and talked with them daily, Ronnie Bennett, Jeanette Reid and Juliette Sims; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
