With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mrs. Beauty Isabella Richardson of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, who entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the remarkable age of 105.
Mrs. Richardson was a woman of deep faith, unwavering strength, and genuine love for others. For more than a century, she blessed the lives of those around her, earning the cherished title of “Community Mother.” She was a God-fearing woman who not only encouraged others with her words, but lived out the faith and principles she encouraged in others. Her willingness to help, her generous spirit, and her gift for making people smile made her a source of comfort, wisdom, and joy to many.
She will also be fondly remembered for the simple joys that brought her happiness. Mrs. Richardson had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of bringing laughter into the lives of those around her. She was known for her delicious fruit cakes, pound cakes, and biscuits—culinary gifts that became part of the memories she leaves behind. She loved fishing, enjoyed wearing her beautiful hats, and embraced life with a spirit that remained vibrant throughout her 105 years.
Mrs. Richardson's life was not simply measured in years, but in the people she encouraged, the lives she touched, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave. Her legacy as a Community Mother will continue through the family, friends, and community she nurtured along the way.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Janie Louise Spence, Richard Richardson, Lewis Anthony Richardson (Shirley), and Beverly Cleveland (Odell); her siblings, Janie Mae Doctor and Elijah Manigault; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the many members of the community who lovingly knew her as a mother and source of encouragement.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lewis “Wrinkle” Richardson; and her children, Florence Hubbard and Archie Richardson.
As we celebrate the extraordinary life of Mrs. Beauty Isabella Richardson, we are reminded that 105 years is more than a lifetime—it is a legacy. Her life was a testimony of faith, perseverance, service, humor, and love. Though she has completed her earthly journey, the lessons she taught, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will continue to speak for generations to come.
A viewing will take place on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Gethers Funeral Home, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1008 Sugar Hill Drive, Pinopolis, SC. ***THERE WILL BE NO VIEWING AFTER THE SERVICE. Burial will follow in Old Nazareth Cemetery, 2205 Wampee Road, Pinopolis, SC.
We humbly ask that you keep the Richardson family in your thoughts and prayers, asking God to surround them with His comfort, strength, and peace as they celebrate the life and legacy of their beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, relative, friend, and Community Mother.
