Benjamin Selby, Sr. transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, August 8, 2015. Born on November 27, 1937, in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the only child of the late Julian and Lucille Selby. Ben was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School, Camden County College and Rowan University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. After working for the City of Atlanta, the Department of Defense and the Internal Revenue Service, he opened Selby Tax Service Inc. in 1984 where he served as CEO until his death. He was a faithful member and servant of World Changers Church International, College Park, Georgia for more than twenty-five years where he served in the Personal Finance Ministry. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Lucille Selby. Those left to cherish the legacy of his love are his beloved sons, Benjamin Selby, Jr. (Michelle), Dimitrius A. Selby (Lindsey), Brandon T. Selby and stepson, Shawn Boykin; grandchildren, Nayonna Purnell (Enoch), Elisha, Michael, Cecilia, Kimani, Micaleb and Alivia; great-grandchildren, Isiah and Alisa; brothers, Elder St. Julian Selby (Nivia), Michael Selby (Cheryl), Christopher Selby (Karen); sister, Donalyn Selby-Eaddy (Eric); devoted special and loving aunt, Flora Mae Selby Sullivan; stepmother, Erbie Selby-Grate; former wife, Bettye Boykin; little brother, Bill Avery; and a host of relatives and friends.
