Benji Darryl Legree, son of Benjamin and the late Victoria Middleton Legree, was born December 4, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York. Darryl passed away in his sleep at his home in Albany, New York on Sunday, February 24, 2019.

His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at the O. Allen Gethers Jr. Memorial Chapel of Gethers Funeral Home, Inc., 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC.

Darryl loved to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army. While serving in the military, he received an award for having the highest IQ for communication. He also received a Good Conduct Medal and Army Service Ribbon while serving overseas. Darryl was an expert at using an AR-16 rifle and grenades.

Darryl enjoyed being a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, veteran, friend and coworker.

Darryl leaves behind his wife, Denise Legree; daughter, Keosha Legree; two grandsons, Darryl "DJ" Legree and Darious White of Schenectady, New York; his father, Benjamin Legree of South Carolina; two brothers, Michael "Mike" Legree of South Carolina and Raymond (Carolyn) Legree of Rhode Island; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends,
