Bennie L. (Bobby Blue Flame) McNeil, was born on November 2, 1945 in West Columbia, SC, a son of the late Theodore and Mary Jeffers McNeil. Bennie entered into eternal rest on Monday morning, September 13, 2010 at the Hospice of Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina after a lengthy illness. He was educated in the public school system of Berkeley County. He was a 1965 graduate of Berkeley Training High School. He was a mechanic by trade. He loved his family and friends. His hobbies were fixing care and fishing. He became ill on November 2,1992 and fought an 18 year battle with cancer. It was known that he fought a good fight. He was a member of the Potters House of Redemption. He was united in Holy Matrimony to his loving wife, Carrie Cooper on March 8, 1989. This union was blessed with a wonderful blended family inclusive of thirteen children. He leaves to celebrate his life: his devoted wife, Carrie McNeil; thirteen children, Anthony McNeil of Knightsville, SC, Michele Weathers of Moncks Corner, SC, Ronald McNeil of Ridgeville, SC, Kesha McNeil-June of Summerville, SC, Latechia Cooper of Moncks Corner, SC, Benji (Charmaine) McNeil of Ridgeville, SC, Ortay (Lawandala D.) Cooper of Augusta, GA, Khalia (Carlos) Swinton of North Charleston, SC, Jerome McNeil of Goose Creek, SC, Benita (Charles) Wicker of Newberry, SC, Wanda (Mike) Campbell of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kevin Goodman of Virginia and Monique Pringle of Ridgeville, SC; a special goddaughter, Evangela Hobson of Goose Creek, SC; a special friend, Penny Youtsey of Knightsville, SC; 40 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph (Annette) Marion of Moncks Corner, SC; one sister, Jennifer McNeil of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters-in-law, Betty (Robert) Mitchell of Florence, SC and Claudette (Sam) Brown of Florence, SC; one aunt, Mary Newton of Knightsville, SC; two uncles, Robert Jeffers of Charlotte, NC and James Jeffers of Buffalo, NY; a host of other family members and friends.
