Obituary

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.  2 Timothy 4:7

Mother Betty Fludd Copeland, known to many as "Bett", was born April 27, 1952 in Berkeley County, SC. She was the daughter of Luther and Josephine Segar Fludd. Betty answered God's call and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Moncks Corner Medical Center, Moncks Corner, SC.

Betty attended the public schools of Berkeley County and graduated from Berkeley Training High School in 1972. She later became a seamstress.

Betty was united in Holy Matrimony to Jonathan Copeland. This union was blessed with two daughters and a stepson.

Betty was a devoted member of Mitten Lane Holiness Church where she served as Church Mother.  She also served on the Trustee Board and was chairperson of the Kitchen Committee. Betty served faithfully until her health declined.

Betty was a dedicated seamstress and an excellent cook. She was a fashionista who enjoyed dressing to impress, wearing glamourous suits, dazzling hats and classy shoes. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and involved herself in their activities. She also nurtured other children in the community. Her hobbies included shopping, decorating, and coordinating/directing weddings.

Betty was known for being upfront and direct, but she had a big heart and was extremely generous to all. She possessed a great sense of humor and brought joy and laughter to many. She was able to light up any room she entered with her charming personality. She will be greatly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jonathan; sisters, Retha Fludd Jackson, Inez Fludd McNeil and Lottie Everlena Fludd Gregg.

Betty leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters, Joletha Copeland and Latoya Copeland Howell both of Moncks Corner, SC; stepson, Kelvin Moore (Andrea) of Orangeburg, SC; grandchildren, Daquan, Micah, Jasmine Howell and R'Ryanna Bishop; brothers, Luther "Blackie" Fludd (Sarah) of Moncks Corner, SC and Willie James "Moody" Fludd (Esther) of Jamestown, SC; niece who was raised as a sister, Maggie Fludd of Moncks Corner, SC; niece and nephews Betty raised, Sabrina, Willie and Jamie McNeil all of Moncks Corner, SC; mother-in-law, Sarah Brown Copeland of Moncks Corner, SC; brothers-in-law, David Copeland, Sr. (Patricia) and Willie Gregg both of Moncks Corner, SC; sisters-in-law, Loretta Copeland Amos (Pinkey) of Philadelphia, PA and Beverly White of Moncks Corner, SC; Godmother, Emma Jean Joy; Godchildren, Sonya Weathers and Jamel Fennick; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
