Obituary

In His infinite wisdom, God our heavenly Father called home Betty Lefft Davis, daughter of the late Joseph E. and Emily C. Lefft. She was born in St. Stephen, South Carolina on December 9, 1933. She departed this life on January 8, 2015. Betty attended the public schools of Berkeley County. She continued her education at Banks Business School in Philadelphia, PA where she received an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Betty was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Lt. Colonel Warren Davis, who preceded her in death. The union was blessed with one son, Michael Warren Davis. She was a devoted wife and mother. As a military wife, she travelled extensively and lived in countries like Germany and Japan. Betty grew up in Zion United Methodist Church (now New Light United Methodist Church). While in good health, Betty was a devoted member of the Hospitality Committee and attended church regularly. She was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph D. Lefft and Oscar N. Lefft; and brothers-in-law, Samuel Cooper, Jr. and John Addison. Betty leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Michael W. Davis; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys L. Boone (John) of Charleston, SC, Mrs. Leila L. Cooper of New Castle, DE and Mrs. Joyce B. Addison of St. Stephen, SC; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Winifred G. Lefft of Orangeburg, SC and Mrs. Shirley Coleman of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
