Obituary

Betty Joe Mazyck, daughter of the late Horace and Annie Smith Mazyck, was born on  January 4, 1949 in Jamestown, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on July 27, 2020 at Summerville Hospice Center, Summerville, South Carolina.

Betty Joe received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Russellville High School in 1967. Her last employment was at St. Stephen Knitwear and Gethers Funeral Home.

Betty Joe accepted the Lord at an early age and joined Liberty Reformed Episcopal Church where she served on the Missionary Board and on several choirs.

Betty Joe loved her family. She enjoyed taking trips to New York to help with her nieces and nephews. Her hobbies were cooking and sewing. Betty Joe was always rendering her services whenever it was needed, whether it was working in the kitchen or driving someone to their doctor's appointment.  Betty was loved by many. Everyone's children in the neighborhood was considered her niece or nephew. She will be greatly missed by many.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: three brothers, Willie Bruce Mazyck, Rawleigh (Gwendolyn) Mazyck and Roderick (Valerie) Mazyck; three sisters, Jesten Williams, Alphair Singh and Mattie Hicks; her sister-in-law, Deborah Mazyck; a host of loving nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own; and a host of cousins and friends.
