Obituary

Bilal was born in Queens, New York on November 21, 1975. He was born to the parents of Otto Spruill, Jr. and the late Ida Spruill. He was the baby boy out of seven children. Bilal was very social in school. He played football with the Bantum League Cowboys, he played the drums and baritone in the band, and he was in the Jr. ROTC. Bilal was an avid Commanders (formerly Redskins) fan. Bilal loved to make others laugh and was quick-witted with the jokes. Bilal was definitely the life of the party. It was never a dull moment with him around.

Bilal had a deep love and appreciation for his family and friends. He was LOVED right back. He made sure he maintained connections with everyone. Bilal loved calling his children, siblings, family, and friends on the phone, eager to see how everyone was doing and sharing the latest updates on what was happening in his life. He always had a listening ear and an opinion to share. Bilal loved his wife Danielle and enjoyed traveling across the country with her. Bilal loved all of his children dearly and was very proud of all of them; he often shared their accomplishments with others.

Bilal earned a living as welder and traveled around the country. He also went to school to study computers. Bilal was all about progression and getting on the right track. Bilal was definitely one of a kind, never a duplicate. We will miss him checking in on us and that lively voice of his. Bilal is in heaven right now apologizing to his mom about all that crying he did for nothing when he was a child. Bilal will be deeply missed by all of his loved ones.

Bilal was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Gibbs Spruill and brother, Khalid Spruill.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Danielle Spruill of Apopka, FL; father, Otto Spruill, Jr. of Moncks Corner, SC; children, Shantell Robinson of Sterling Heights, MI, Natayshia Jackson of Summerville, SC, Deandra Bacon of Baltimore, MD, Jihaad Spruill of Moncks Corner, SC; Nyheem Spruill of Norfolk, VA, Julles Spruill, Prestin Spruill, and Bree'ahna Spruill all of Savannah, GA and two stepchildren, Nathaniel Plante of Pennsylvania and Brianna Plante of Florida; siblings, Bruce Spruill and Billy Land of Moncks Corner, SC, Aliyah Sana, Hakim Spruill and Aesha Spruill all of Maryland; grandchildren, Payton and Isaiah Robinson of Michigan, Braxton and Kannon Jackson of South Carolina; four step-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Cindy Lou FitzGerald and father-in-law, Daniel FitzGerald of Florida, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

"In his final moments, Bilal grabbed his big brother Khalid's hand to go and be with mom and other loved ones – soar in peace Bilal".
