Deacon Bobby Joe Cade
, was born on August 14, 1939 in Tignall, Georgia, the ninth child born to the union of the late Joe and Sallie Cade. His earthly life ended on May 12, 2018, for an eternal life with God.
Bobby
received his formal education in the Wilkes County Educational System, in Wilkes County, GA.
He
was an adventurous person, so the county lines of Wilkes County would not confine him, so he set out at an early age for the skyline of New York City. He quickly found a place of worship and settled in. Through his fellowship and love of entertainment, Bobby met a group of men whom he shared the same love and passion for music. They formed a group called, "The Traveling Stars" and began to perform around the area spreading God's word through song. For all who truly knew Bobby Cade, they knew given an opportunity and a microphone, he was going to entertain them in song.
It
was during Bobby's travels within the church community that he met his life partner, Rhoda Ferguson. They joined Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in the Bronx, New York and spent the next 17 years before uniting in holy matrimony in 1985.
To
support his family, Bobby worked for many years as a salesman at Contemporary Design Center Furniture Store in Manhattan, NY. A career in sales coincided with his love for entertainment and the art of persuasion. He was very good at his craft. Bobby could sell you the shirt of your back. When he decided to relocate to South Carolina in 1985, he acquired a position at Ward Tires in Moncks Corner, SC where he remained until his retirement. Bobby decided that he was too young and active to be retired, so he went searching for something productive to do. He landed a part-time job with the Berkeley County School System, where he got to travel to various schools within the district performing whatever tasks were required for the day. Of all the schools he visited, he loved working at Berkeley Middle School the best.
Bobby
became a member of St. John Baptist Church upon relocating to South Carolina. He eventually became a Deacon of the church and served in that capacity until his health failed and he eventually couldn't attend.
Bobby
was a passionate person and his love for his family was well-known and documented. He did not mix words. If he had something to say, he said it regardless of how it would be received. If any of his siblings called him for anything, you best believe that he was hitting the road to their location regardless of how far or long it took him to get there.
Bobby
was a people person; he was very charismatic and could start up a conversation with anyone and hold their interest in anything he was talking about. He looked forward to the visits from his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed traveling to share in the accomplishments and/or special occasions of his family. Bobby glowed and basked in their achievements as if they were his own. He was unselfish and charitable in his deeds. Bobby would give you a ride if needed and he would feed you if you were hungry. He had a passion for fishing and hunting; they were his favorite pastimes. Bobby's larger than life personality and zest for life will surely be missed.
He
was preceded in death by: his parents, Joe and Sallie Cade, his siblings, Grady Cade, Terry Cade, Thomas Cade, West Clark, Charlie Clark, Doris Barksdale, Ruth Falu and Annie Mae Truman; and daughter, Mildred "Pie" Cade.
He
