On February 6, 1990 in Newark, New Jersey, Bobby Lenard Gadsden, Jr. was born to Paulette Williams and Bobby Gadsden, Sr. He departed this life on April 13, 2011 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Bobby was affectionately known as Junior to his family and friends. Bobby was a very well mannered, polite and humble young man. He was soft spoken and kind to everyone he met. Bobby attended Wesley United Methodist Church. He participated in and traveled to New York with the 50 Young Men Male Choir. Through extreme perseverance, Bobby obtained his credits to receive his High School Diploma and will posthumously receive this diploma in June from Berkeley High School. Bobby enjoyed playing video games and being with his friends. He loved animals, in particular dogs. Bobby was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed football. Bobby was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Berkeley Stags. While at Berkeley High School, Bobby earned several awards including: Lifter of the Month: April 2007, Summer 2007 and April 2008; Top Lineman 2008; Varsity Letter Award 2008; 11 Tackle Top Grade Award during the Stags versus Bluffton game; and the High School Sports Report Top 100 Senior Prospects Award 2008. Bobby leaves to cherish fond memories: his mother, Paulette Williams Rivera of Newark, NJ; his father, Bobby Gadsden, Sr. of Moncks Corner, SC; four sisters, Tara Williams of Newark, NJ, Brittany Douglas and Sierra Mathis both of Moncks Corner, SC and Khalia Myers of Pearl City, HI; one brother, Tony Gadsden of Summerville, SC; grandmother, Joan Williams of Newark, NJ; aunt, Samantha Gadsden Palmer of the home; aunt and uncle, Corine and Dale Thompson of Moncks Corner, SC; special friend, Marchelle; special cousins, Christopher Palmer and Keya Thompson; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred "Bubba" Gadsden, Jr. and Eva Mae Heyward Gadsden.
