IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Burnard
Ellington
March 11, 1960 – August 19, 2024
It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of our beloved brother, Mr. Burnard Ellington, 64, of Moncks Corner, SC, formerly of the Cordesville, SC, community. Affectionately known to us as "Cooda" or "Pancake", as our loving grandparents, Mr. Paul Rivers and Mrs. Mamie Rivers, lovingly nicknamed him and always referenced him as such, accordingly. Burnard departed this life on Monday, August 19, 2024 while hospitalized due to a lengthy illness at Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital, Summerville, SC.
Burnard was born March 11, 1960, in Moncks Corner, SC, the fourth child born to the union of Mr. William Ellington and Mrs. Estella Ellington. Burnard received his education in the Berkeley County Public School System and graduated from Berkeley High School. He continued his educational pursuits by attending Vocational Assistance Training where he received formal training in ARC Welding. Burnard was employed for many years at Circuit City Electronics in various positions, including Warehouse Manager. Subsequently Burnard went on to conclude his employment career as a Special Transport Driver for TriCounty Link transportation in Moncks Corner, SC, until he retired in 2019.
Being a long standing and faithful member of Holy Comforter Reformed Episcopal Church in Cordesville, SC, Burnard held the position of Vestry Board member, was a very active Sunday School Scholar and also performed in the Male Choir.
Burnard was a quiet gentle soul who passionately loved sports and was an avid, loyal football fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He also played and served as a coach of the Cordesville Red Socks Softball team. Burnard loved and adored his family immensely and savored family gatherings while enjoying good old Southern home cooked meals. His irreplaceable presence will be sorely missed by our family and everyone who knew, appreciated and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory: two sisters, Carrie Liferidge (David), Queens, NY, and Christine Seals (Stanley), SC; two brothers, Anthony T. Ellington (Ethel), Augusta, GA and Charles D. Ellington (Yvette), Long Island, NY; two nieces, Chrystal Ellington, Brooklyn, NY and Sonya Washington, SC; five nephews, Dean Burden, PA, Anthony T. Jedon Washington (Nakia), SC and Daryl Washington, SC; six grandnephews, four grandnieces, one aunt, Genethia Middleton, Bronx, NY; one uncle, Wilson Brown, Summerville, SC; and a host of cousins.
One nephew preceded him in death, David A. Liferidge.
Special thanks to devotedly loyal family members, friends, church family and prayer warriors who supported, assisted, comforted and prayed for our loving brother during his most challenging time.
