Obituary

"To everything there is a season, And a time to every purpose under the Heaven." - Ecclesiastes 3:1 A time to be born. January 11, 2008 was a cold and blustery day at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. It was on this day that God saw fit to blow precious life into a beautiful baby boy, born to Michelle Miller and Andre Grant. They would call him Camden Devone Miller. A time to give. In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven." In this manner, Camden was given back to God through baptism on April 20, 2008. He enjoyed attending church service with his mom and grandparents and was an active participant in church school. A time to laugh. Camden was a very active and happy little boy. He was a child who was full of life and loved to play and spend time with family and friends, especially his cousins, Jayden and Jorden. He was a very curious and active student at Oakley Christian Preschool, where he was interested in learning everything. Camden loved sports, especially football! You could always find Camden with a football in his hand. He loved Clemson, just like his Uncles Styrone and Shawn and his Grandfather Willie! A time to die. On Thursday, January 27, 2011, at the Medical University of South Carolina, God decided that He needed Camden more than we did; and Camden left on a bright, brisk, sunshiny day. Camden was only given to us for a short period of time; but in his brief three years, Camden was able to leave his footprints on every heart he came in contact with. A time to sew. Through the miracle of organ donation, Camden is able to live on. Three other children have already benefited and their lives have been saved. A time to mourn. Left to mourn Camden's passing and celebrate his memories are: his loving and devoted mother, Michelle Miller and father, Andre Grant; adoring and nurturing maternal grandparents, Willie and Pamie Miller; paternal grandparents, Derrick (Margaret) Ferguson and Linda (Timothy) Grant McKnight; paternal great-grandparents, Norris and Ruthie Ferguson and Elise Grant; five uncles, Styrone (Jami) Miller, Willie Shawn Miller, Dimitri Ferguson, Tailore Ferguson and Timothy McKnight, Jr.; a caring godmother, Sharice Miller; a loving and dedicated dada, Albert Alston; 15 grandaunts; 8 granduncles; 8 great-grandaunts; 8 great-granduncles; three special cousins, Armani, Jayden and Jorden Miller; two loving and devoted cousins, Bridgett Hood (who was like a big sister) and Gretta Miller (who was present when Camden entered and exited this world); a host of cousins and relatives along with his classmates, his principal, Ms. Mary Hardee and his teachers, Ms. Dennis, Ms. Tina and Ms. Christy are also left to cherish his memories.
