Obituary

Carietha "Carrie" Frost Warren was born on July 30, 1941, in the Forty One community of Saint Stephen, South Carolina She was a daughter of Elma Frost Smallwood and was reared by Alma Frost. She departed this life on August 21, 2021 at her home.

Carietha received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County and attended Saint Stephen High School. She was employed as a Caregiver in the home health industry.

Carietha joined Saint Peters African Methodist Episcopal  Church and faithfully served there for many years. She later moved her membership to Good Shepherd Reformed Episcopal Church and served on the Mother's Board, Missionary, Choir and Pastoral Care.

Carrie's hobbies included gardening and fishing. She was also an excellent cook. She will be greatly missed by her family and her community.

Carietha was preceded in death by: her husband, Anthony C. Warren; mothers, Elma Frost Smallwood and  Amy Frost; son, Willie T. Montgomery; brother, Melvin Smallwood; and sisters, Betty Frost, Gloria Frost, Pearlie Johnson and Evelyn Smallwood.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Mary M. Whittaker, Wilhelmina D. Montgomery of Bonneau, SC and Kathleen J. Montgomery of Buffalo, NY; three sons, Homer A. Montgomery of Bonneau, SC, Anthony L. (Joann) Rose, Jr. of Columbia, SC and Jeffrey G. Rose of Niagara Falls, NY; stepchildren, Anthony Warren Jr., Julie Ann Warren, Ronald Warren and Benjamin Warren; and a host of grandchildren.

Carrie also leaves: six brothers, Rev. James (Deloris) Frost, Henry Smallwood of Bonneau, SC, Arthur Smallwood, Darnell Smallwood of Pearson, GA, Frederick (Grace) Smallwood of Baxley, GA, and Nathaniel Smallwood of Baltimore, MD; five sisters, Ruthann (John) Davis of Moncks Corner, SC, Faye Husser of Goose Creek, SC, Juanita Lee of Pearson, GA, Inez Holley of Baltimore, MD and Lula (Casey) Greene of Charlotte, NC; three close friends, Alice Morant, Bertha Jackson and Annie M. Wallace Eure; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Carrie's family gives a huge "Thank You" to her personal caregivers: granddaughters, Carietha M. Montgomery and Ashley L. Coleman; sister, Faye Husser; sister-in-law, Deloris Frost; and friend, Rosetta White.

Viewing will be on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home (MONCKS CORNER). FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED!

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Good Shepherd Reformed Episcopal Church Cemetery, 2898 North Highway 52, Bonneau, SC, with viewing from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED. The family is grateful for your understanding and prayers doing this difficult time.
