IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol M.
Peace
January 27, 1963 – April 20, 2021
Carol Michelle Simmons Peace was an humble woman of virtue and grace born to the late Milton and Josephine Simmons on January 27, 1963 in Bronx, New York. She transitioned into eternal life with the Lord on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Summerville Community Hospice House, Summerville, South Carolina.
Carol received her education in the public schools of Bronx, New York and Berkeley County, South Carolina. She graduated from Berkeley High School in the Class of 1981. She furthered her education by attending Trident Technical College, Charleston, SC where she studied Computer Clerical Cluster. Carol enjoyed working at the Berkeley County Library and as the Front Office Manager at Alonzo's Truck Repair.
Carol met and fell in love with the love of her life, Montague Alonzo Peace Jr., who she affectionately called "Lonzo". They were joined in holy matrimony on June 25, 1988. To this union, they were blessed with four children. One daughter, Danielle Peace, preceded Carol in death.
At an early age, Carol accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of the Greater St. James AME Church where she served faithfully. Carol dedicated herself to Christian service for the upbuilding of God's Kingdom and served on the Sanctuary Choir and with the Hospitality Ministry.
Carol learned her cooking skills from her mom. She loved to cook and was known for her potato salad and delicious strawberry cheesecake which she made for all of her family events. Carol loved gardening and would share her bountiful harvest each year with family and friends. She also enjoyed going out on the boat fishing with Alonzo. Carol was an avid reader and would stay up into the wee hours of the morning to finish a good novel. Carol's favorite movie was The Color Purple. She loved it so much that she could recite the entire movie word for word.
Carol was a caring person who deeply loved her family. Carol always put family first because she wanted them to know how much she loved them and wanted them to treasure the moments and memories that they shared together as a family. She enjoyed planning many family trips to Florida, New York, Georgia, and the Bahamas just to name a few.
The wonderful memories of her life and sweet giving spirit will be remembered by: her loving and devoted husband of 32 years, Montague Alonzo Peace Jr.; children, Montague A.
