Carolyn Simmons Reid was born February 7, 1953 in Cordesville, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Pinckney "Mack" Simmons, Jr. and Serena Taylor Simmons. Carolyn transitioned into eternal life with the Lord on October 28, 2023.

Carolyn received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County, SC and graduated from Berkeley High School. She was employed as a 911 Dispatcher for the City of Charleston and the City of Goose Creek for 27 years. She retired in 2017.

Carolyn was a member of Mt. Carmel Reformed Episcopal Church, Goose Creek, SC where she served faithfully. She was the Assistant Secretary, member of the Finance Committee and sang with the choir.

Carolyn was united in holy matrimony to Theodore Charlie "Bubba" Reid on March 14, 1986. This union was blessed with four children.

Carolyn was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. The simplest tasks in life brought great joy to her. Carol liked discarding personal items and performing laundry duties. No one was allowed to use her washing machine. She especially enjoyed working in the yard, watching Western and Hallmark movies, and sitting under her carport talking with family and friends while drinking a cold Pepsi. She also looked forward to her monthly casino boat rides in Myrtle Beach, SC and her bus trips. Carolyn will be greatly missed.

Carolyn leaves to cherish fond memories: her husband, Theodore Charlie "Bubba" Reid, Jr.; children, Ricquares "Rocky" Reid, Michelle Reid, Shaneka Reid and Theodore "TC" Reid III; grandchildren, Dejaniece "DayDay" Reid, Chemya "Mya" Reid, Ge'vontez "G" Reid, Isaiah Reid, Kachief "Chief" Reid and Terrance Howard; great-granddaughter, Phoenix-A'mya Baxter; siblings, George Taylor and wife Gwen, Arthur Taylor, Wilhelmena Francis and husband Ossie, and Teresa Simmons; her partner, Rosann "Ann" Demore and husband Alvin "Al"; aunts, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, 11:00 a. m., at Mt. Carmel Reformed Episcopal Church, 119 Redbank Road, Goose Creek, SC. Mrs. Reid will repose in the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. There will be NO VIEWING after the service. Interment, Taylor Heirs Cemetery, Cordesville, SC.

Viewing will be held Friday, November 3, 2023, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
