Carrie Belle Maxwell was born January 27, 1949, in Bonneau, South Carolina, where she had some wonderful memories growing up. She was a daughter of Isaac and Mattie Mae Nelson.

Carrie graduated in 1967 from Russellville High School in St. Stephen, South Carolina. She served in the healthcare profession as a Nursing Assistant and Caretaker, where she loved to help take care of and comfort others. Formerly, Carrie worked at the old Reliable Electric Company in St. Stephen, South Carolina.

Carrie loved helping people in any way that she could, listening to God's word being preached, and listening to Gospel Music (especially Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC's).

Carrie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and loved to shout and praise the Lord. She always kept God in her heart, mind, and spirit. Now, she is shouting in heaven.

Carrie transitioned into eternal life with the Lord on Monday, October 16, 2023, in Florence, SC.

Carrie was really close to her children, daughter, Lauretta E. Joyner, and son, Ricky A. Joyner. They were together through thick and thin. Carrie would often say that she and her children were like three peas in a pod, and that her children were her pride and joy. Besides her children Lauretta and Ricky, Carrie leaves to cherish her memories, loving siblings: sisters, Trudella Nelson, Moncks Corner, SC, Margaret Middleton (Deacon William), Bonneau, SC, Christine Nelson, Moncks Corner, SC and Elouise Bennett (Joseph), Bonneau, SC; brother, Leroy Bennett, Bonneau, SC; as well as a host of other family and friends.

A viewing will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
