"To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven; a time to be born and a time to die" Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 A Time to be Born - Charles Bolden was born October 2, 1951 in Charleston, South Carolina, a son of the late Frank Bolden and Evangeline Marion Bolden. Charles was the eldest of two brothers and two sisters; two siblings (Janie Lou Bolden and Wayne Bolden) preceded him in death. Charles grew up in the Forty-One Community of St. Stephen, SC. A Time to Die - In the early morning hours of November 15, 2010, Charles heard a voice saying, "Come", so he left all of life's work and followed Him, and bid this world farewell. Charles attended the public schools of Berkeley County. He was brought up in a home with lots of love and nurturing. He grew up during an era where families were held together by the strength of love and loyalty to each other, and where the church and the community were the center of each family's life. In Forty-One, the belief that it takes a village to raise a child was true and evident. As a child, Charles attended Bethel United Methodist Church. In 1970, he became employed with Cooper Construction where he learned the trade of masonry. Charles loved to work. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to all. His memories will always be in the hearts of his family and friends of the community, especially the times he blew his "horn", signaling he was passing by walking. Charles is gone but will never be forgotten by his loving and dedicated sister, Pamie M. Miller (Willie) of Moncks Corner, SC; his caring brother, Jerome Bolden (Mavis) of New Haven, CT; six aunts, Albertha M. Davis and Dorothy M. Faber of St. Stephen, SC, Pearl M. Marion (Myles) and Eloise M. White (Lorenzo) of Harrisburg, PA, Janie M. Riddle of New Haven, CT, and Maggie Borden of Cordesville, SC; two uncles, Phillip Marion (Dorothy) of New Haven, CT and Solomon Montgomery of Pineville, SC; five nephews, Styrone Miller (Jami), Willie S. Miller, Wayne Bolden, Christopher Bolden, and Jayden Bolden; three nieces, Michelle Miller, Knesha Bolden, and Latifah Bolden; two grandnieces and two grandnephews; a special grandnephew, Camden, whom Charles called "Boo-Boo"; a close cousin, Harry Faber; a friend and co-worker, Richard Bishop, Jr.; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
