Droze

Charles Jerald Droze , the seventh child of Charles H. Droze and Olive Gibbs Droze, was born July 9, 1923 in Summerville, SC. God called him home to be with him on November 23, 2016.
Charles was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County. He served in the United States Army during WWII (Staff Sergeant). He was employed by ILA Local 1422 (International Longshoreman Association) for over 30 years. He was a farmer for many years.
Charles grew up in the New Hope Community. He became a member of Greater St. James at an early age; he served the church in many capacities such as a Steward, Church School Superintendent, Class leader of Class #3, Leader of Leaders, and Senior Choir member. He was one of the founders of the CTA (Church Transportation Assistant) program. He enjoyed attending the Annual Conferences. He touched the lives of many in the church and his community. He loved gardening and singing. He also lived his life according to the scriptures.
Charles was united in Holy Matrimony on November 12, 1950 to Gladys Simmons (who preceded him in death). To this blessed union four children were born. He had eight siblings who preceded him in death; Monica Jefferies, Minnie Varner, Harvey Herring, Eugene Anderson, Gerlene Boone, Vermel Smith, Daisy Mae Hatterson, and Dorothy Droze.
His family will forever be grateful for his sacrifice of love. He will always be remembered by his four (4) children; Charles & Virginia Droze of Summerville, SC; Frances & John Dingle of Moncks Corner, SC; Yvonne & Johnny Postell of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl; and Travis & Shelia Droze of Summerville, SC; one brother in law, Lenoir Simmons, of Summerville, SC; eight grandchildren, Keith Dingle, Shana Johnson, Ormond (Marissa) Droze, Kara (Darrell) Harrison, Brent (Alena) Droze, Ash Postell, Travis Droze, Jr., and LaCandria Droze, ten great-grandchildren, a special niece, Mary Ford, a special family friend, Betty Walker, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
