Obituary

With deep and heartfelt sympathy, we share the passing of Mr. Christopher Howard of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, who entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Mr. Howard was a proud and dedicated veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Army, from which he retired. He later continued his commitment to service as a Corrections Officer at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center, along with other professional endeavors throughout his life.

Chris had a vibrant spirit and a love for life. He enjoyed sports and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams—the Lakers, the Steelers, and the Braves. A faithful member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, North Charleston, SC, he served with a willing heart through the Meals on Wheels and Parking Lot Ministries.

Above all, Chris was a family man. He was the foundation his loved ones leaned on—a source of strength, wisdom, and love. His grandchildren brought him immense joy and held a very special place in his heart. In his quiet moments, he found happiness in baking, cooking, dressing well, and making wise investments.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are his devoted wife, Sherry Sales Howard; his children, Chris Dwayne Howard (Tededria Colleton) and Sharlena McConnell (Ausy III); his beloved grandchildren, Dallas C. Howard, Shyanne K. Howard-McConnell, and Christopher D. Howard; his brother, Eugene Howard; his sister/niece, Clarissa Mitchell (Anthony); and a host of loving family members, classmates, and dear friends who will forever treasure the life he lived and the love he gave.

Funeral service arrangements will be announced at a later time.

We humbly ask that you keep the Howard family lifted in prayer and surround them with your love, comfort, and support during this time of loss and reflection.
