Obituary

Corey Jonathan Ellington, son of Melissa Ellington Myers and the late Norris Middleton, was born on September 13, 1987 in Charleston, SC.

Corey was educated in the Berkeley County School District. He was employed in several venues. He worked in insulation at Cohen's Drywall Company and  in janitorial services at MUSC. Corey was a firefighter at Detyens Shipyard and a packer at Tyson's chicken. He was also employed by Google.

Corey was a member of St. Mark Holiness Church, Pineville, SC.

Corey was a member of several organizations, including an antique car club and K&M Riders Horse Club. He was a super fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also took pleasure in antique cars, racing, drawing, fishing, playing games, playing cards and making jokes. He was truly the comedian of the family. He enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his beautiful daughter, Joshalyn.

Some of his favorite quotes were "That's not nice", and "I'm a lover and not a fighter." Corey always had a smile on his face, while rubbing his chin jokingly.

Corey was called home on October 21, 2020. He will be greatly missed.
