It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Cornell Owens of Charleston, SC, who departed this life on Friday, March 7, 2025.

Mr. Owens served his country with honor in the United States Army

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Cornell Jermaine Wigfall, Akeem Holmes, and Kayla Holmes; his adored grandchildren, Jermaine Wigfall, Cornell Wigfall Jr., Cayden Wigfall, Ta'Mora Wigfall, Asir Holmes, and Leilani Holmes; his devoted siblings, Isabelle Cobb (Leon), Eula Mae Wise, Jerome Owens, and Carol Allen; his caring sister-in-law, Alfreda Owens; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Willie James Bennett and his wife Ernestine, Herman Owens, Louis Owens, Theodore Owens, Harvey J. Owens, and Yvonne O. Jefferson.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. at O. Allen Gethers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. Interment will take place at Payne Chapel Cemetery, 1169 Old Church Road, Cordesville, SC.
