Corrie Pearl
Mack
February 20, 1942 – February 1, 2021
"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints." Psalm 116:15
Corrie Pearl Mack, affectionately called Pearl, was born on February 20, 1942 to Willie Covington and Elizabeth Covington Butler in McCormick, South Carolina. She was one of eight children. She transitioned peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021 at her home in St. Stephen, South Carolina.
Pearl was brought up in a Christian and loving home and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a dedicated member of Bryant Chapel Holiness Church, St. Stephen, South Carolina, where Elder John Pride served as her pastor.
She was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County where she attended St. Stephen High School.
Corrie Pearl was joined in Holy Matrimony to Army Sergeant James L. Mack. This union was blessed with three children.
Aunt Pearl, as she was known to many, was employed as a Home Health Care provider for many years. Her hobbies were going to church, cooking, cleaning, and most of all, she did not pass on any opportunity to ride; she was quick to jump in a vehicle. Pearl's favorite song was "I'll Take You There," by the Staple Singers.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Covington and Elizabeth Covington Butler; husband, James "Bubba" Mack; one son, Andrew Mack; and one sister, Lottie Mae Butler-Douglas.
Corrie Pearl's precious memories will forever be remembered by her children, Eric (Iris) Mack of the home and Steven Mack of Spartanburg, SC; three sisters, Mary Jane Austin, Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Butler and Rebecca Watson; three brothers, Samuel, Paul and Silas (Daniel) Butler; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
