CSM (Ret) Falvie Jones, Jr., the son of the late Falvie and Velma Jones, Sr., was born August 9, 1953 in Rusk County, Texas. He peacefully entered into eternal rest Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Moncks Corner Medical Center in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Falvie was educated in the public schools of Rusk County, TX. He continued his education and training as a Cavalry Scout in the military. He enlisted into the United States Army and served 28 years. He was deployed to Germany, Korea, Panama and South West Asia. He served during the Vietnam Era and Desert Storm. He worked after his military career as an over the road long distance truck driver for his remaining years in Texas. Falvie met and married the love of his life, Harrietta "Lisa" Major, daughter of Geraldine and the late Harry Major. They were married for 35 years. Falvie transitioned to Moncks Corner throughout his marriage and military career. He decided to relocate permanently in 2012 and lived his remaining years as a retiree. He was accepted into the Charles R. Williams Lodge Number 132 in the state of Maryland in 1978. Falvie was very outspoken and enjoyed a good conversation. He never met a stranger. He was affectionately known as "June Bug" to most and "Pa Pa" to his grandchildren. He loved fishing, loved his grandchildren and loved to cook for his family. He could fry the crispiest bacon. He craved the Blues; one of his favorites was "Hole in the Wall" by Marvin Sease and "Got My Whiskey" by Mel Waiters. He could dance the night away. He was the life of the party and an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan! Falvie was preceded in death by all of his siblings. He leaves to remember his life's experiences: a loving and devoted wife, Harrietta L. Jones; children, Telsamia Harrison (Lonnie) of Moncks Corner, SC, Tonya Blanton of Henderson, TX, Bishop Cedrick Major of Marshall, TX, and Torami Dixon (Stella) of Henderson, TX; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; mother-in-law, Geraldine B.
