Cynda J. Fashion was born on January 17, 1952 in New Brunswick City, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late John D. Brown and Emmie Oliver. She was adopted by David and Hester Fashion. Cynda received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County, SC and was a 1970 graduate of Berkeley Training High School. She continued her education and graduated from the School of Nursing in Beaufort, SC. Nursing was her passion. She loved caring for people. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital, Baker Hospital, and several nursing facilities. Cynda's religious training began at Mount Carmel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Moncks Corner, SC. Cynda was known for her love of children. She volunteered her time at Sedgefield Middle School, Goose Creek, SC. She was also civic minded and volunteered at the voting polls. Cynda departed this life on May 1, 2014 at her residence in Goose Creek, SC. She leaves cherish her memory: her beloved friend, Paul Mack; one son, Paul D. Fashion; two sisters, Martha Fowler of Plainfield, NJ and Annice L. Brown of Goose Creek, SC; two brothers, Johnny M. B. Smith, Sr. of Goose Creek, SC and Eugene Brown of Gray Court, SC; two brothers-in-law, Rev. Ruben Brown of Goose Creek and Cuttino Fowler of Plainfield, NJ; one sister-in-law, Marie A.
