Cynthia "Mary" Legree Cole, was born August 22, 1955 in Pineville, South Carolina. She was a daughter of Sam Legree and the late Beulah Hamilton Legree. She attended Bennett Elementary School and graduated from Harlem High School, Chicago, Illinois. She also attended Kennedy King College. "Mary" was employed by the City of Chicago for many years. Cynthia was a kind-hearted, warm, giving, and caring person. She was a joy to her family. She would light up any room she entered with her beautiful smile. She loved to have fun and make everyone laugh. She was famous for her delicious cooking. Cynthia was always willing to help anyone with whom she came in contact. On Sunday, October 23, 2011, Cynthia entered into eternal rest in Chicago, IL. Those left to cherish her memory: two loving children, Jenaine Mary Cole of Chicago, IL and Edward Ben (Nakia) Cole III of Kansas City, MO; one granddaughter, Cynthia Denise Cole of Chicago, IL; a loving father, Sam Legree of Pineville, SC; siblings, Samuel Legree, Jr. and Maurice (Wanda) Legree of Pineville, SC and Denise Legree Jackson of Chicago, IL; nieces and nephews, Meshelle (Greshman) Fortune, Nichole Strong, Leslie Jackson, Antwone Panio, and Kimberley (Larry) Henderson; twelve great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
