With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Cynthia Selene Snipe Smoot of St. Stephen, South Carolina, who entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 14, 2025. Cynthia was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on April 9, 1963, to Jean C. Snipe and the late Stanley Jordan.

She is survived by her three sons, Samuel Isaac Smoot Jr., Columbia, SC, Samuel Alexander Smoot, Los Angeles, CA, and Samuel Zachary Smoot, Columbia, SC—as well as her stepson, Kavalas Ingram, Columbia, SC; her mother, Jean C. Snipe, St. Stephen, SC; and her brother, Phillip Jordan, Hartford, CT. She is also lovingly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Cynthia was a graduate of St. Stephen High School, Class of 1981. She went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from the University of South Carolina in 1985. She faithfully dedicated 28 years of service to the South Carolina Department of Social Services, where she served as a department manager until retiring due to illness.

The family will begin receiving friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the residence.

Viewing will be held Friday, November 21, 2025, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Gethers Funeral Home, Moncks Corner, SC.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, 1:00 p.m., at Refuge Temple Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 3674 North U. S. Highway 52, St. Stephen, SC. A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Please note: There will be no viewing after the service. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, St. Stephen, SC.
