Dear Friends, it was our Lord Jesus himself who said, "Come to me, all you have labored and are burdened, and I will give you rest." Let us pray for our sister, Daisy, so she may rest from her labors and enter into the light of God's eternal Sabbath rest. Receive, O Lord, for she returns to you.

Daisy Baylor Mazyck was born February 4, 1928, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. She was a daughter of the late Lander and Laura Baylor. Daisy departed this life on Thursday August 31, 2023, at Roper Hospital, Charleston, SC. She attended Berkeley Training and graduated in 1965 from Berkeley High School. In her early teens, Daisy also worked at the Old Moncks Corner Hospital, which is currently the Berkeley County Health Department. She was a member of Moncks Corner AME Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Brooklyn, New York.

Daisy was united in holy matrimony to Jesse Mazyck, from the Long Ridge Community, SC, and later resided in Brooklyn, New York. She worked in retail factories in New York for over 50 years until she retired. After retirement, Daisy returned home to Moncks Corner around 1996-1997. Upon her return home, she raised Pamela and John Johnson. She reared in the home, Ronald Sowers Sr.

Daisy went back to work for a few years at Santee Cooper as a cook; she worked at Short Stay working various positions as well and later concluded working at Walmart from 2007-2015 until her physical health began to decline.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Mazyck. Daisy loved the Lord, she was passionate about providing for her family. She enjoyed cooking, eating  at Red Lobster, and she loved her dog, Benny.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy B. Frazier, John Baylor, Emma Patterson, Earthalee Sheppard, Rosa B. Levy, and a brother named Denny Baylor, who passed at an early age. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her children, Pamela Johnson of Columbia, SC, John "JJ" Johnson of Moncks Corner, SC, and Ronald Sowers Sr. of Goose Creek, SC: a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at O. Allen Gethers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. Interment will be in Moncks Corner AME Church Cemetery, 306 West Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC. Viewing will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
