Dan Houston, son of the late Earnest and Eula Houston was born on May 16, 1947 in Covington, Georgia. On the afternoon of Monday, November 6, 2023, God in His infinite wisdom, God who makes no mistakes, looked down upon Dan's weary face and took him home to rest.

Dan was educated in Queens, New York. He graduated from Newton High School. He gained employment at Georgia-Pacific and Russ Con Construction Company.

Dan was joined in Holy Matrimony to Bernice Williams Houston on December 12, 1969. This union was blessed with four children.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Joann Hatchett and a grandson, Melik Bibbs.

Dan is survived by: his wife, Bernice Houston of the home; three daughters, Veronica Houston of Atlanta, GA, Cherry Houston and Danielle Camille Houston both of St. Stephen, SC; one son, Jerry Houston of St. Stephen, SC; two sisters, Shirley Houston and Gladys Bynum both of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Charles (Karen) Faverey of Delaware; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a special friend, Edward Washington; sisters and brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, 12:00 p.m., at Day Dawn Baptist Church, 2057 Highway 45, Pineville, SC. Viewing will be on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Pineville Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
