IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel L.
King
February 14, 1993 – March 2, 2017
Daniel Lamont King was born on February 14, 1993 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Daniel attended Beardon High School in Knoxville, TN where he was a member of the swim team and Rugby team. In 2011, Daniel attended Timberland High School, St. Stephen, SC where he was a member of the 2012 State Football Championship Wolves. Daniel also was a member of Timberland's soccer team and Renaissance Club. He competed in theater competitions. After graduation, he attended Benedict College, Columbia, SC where he participated in the Gospel Choir, Student Government Association (SGA) and the Judicial Council. He was majoring in Mass Communication.
Daniel was a member of New Vision Fellowship where he was an active part of the youth group, Media Team and Junior Praise Team. He later became a member of St. Stephen Baptist Church where he sang in the Youth Choir. He was presently a member of Abiding Word Family Ministries.
Daniel always believed himself to be a "Jack of all trades". He was stubborn which for him was a good quality because it helped him to overcome many adversities early on in his life. Because of his stubbornness and strong-willed attitude, he did not allow anything to defeat him. He was a fighter. Daniel truly loved his parents and siblings. He possessed a large heart that made him sacrifice his life for others. His goal in life was to own his own business, become a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. like his dad, and to help those in need, especially former convicts.
He is survived by his wife, Samantha Jones of Jacksonville, FL; his son, Jayden Bassett; his father, Anthony King of St. Stephen, SC; brother, James Anthony King and sister-in-law, Melanie King; grandparents, Oswald and Emma King of Gary, IN and Rosie Ann Jackson of Welch, WV; great-grandmother, Rev. Catherine Washington of Pineville, SC, Helen Stallworth of West Virginia; great, great-grandmother, Louise Stallworth; three nieces, two nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
