I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." - II Timothy 4:6-7 David "Shine" Mazyck, son of the late Horace and Annie Smith Mazyck, was born on October 3, 1953 in Jamestown, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on October 8, 2009 at Roper St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina. Shine received his education in the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Macedonia High School in 1974. Shine accepted the Lord at an early age and joined Liberty Reformed Episcopal Church where he served as: Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Lay Reader, Junior Warden and Vestry Board Member. He also worked with the committee for the upkeeping of the church. His last place of employment was Reliable Electric Company in St. Stephen, SC. On January 3, 1981, Shine was joined in Holy Matrimony to the former Deborah "Babbie" Washington. This union was blessed with two sons. Shine never met a stranger. He was loved by everyone and was often referred to as the "Mayor" of Savannah Creek. He leaves to cherish his fond memories: a loving and devoted wife, Deborah Mazyck; his loving children, Davirick Mazyck and David LaKwan Mazyck; a loving mother-in-law, Shirley Washington; four sisters, Betty Mazyck, Alphair Singh, Jesten Williams and Mattie Hicks; four brothers, Willie Mazyck, Robert Mazyck, Rawleigh Mazyck and Roderick Mazyck; nine sisters-in-law, Carolyn Mazyck, Valerie Mazyck, Gwendolyn Mazyck, Diane Mustapher, Annette Hammond, Audrey Washington, Billie Williamson, Gloria Scott and Gaynell Greene; four brothers-in-law, Otis Greene, Tyrone Mustapher, Sr., Elvis Scott and William Washington, Jr.; one uncle, Samuel Mazyck; one aunt-in-law, Iva Bell Hawkins; one uncle-in-law, Calvin Beauford; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
